About Onyx

Onyx is an almost 2 year old white German Shepherd. Before us, it seems like Onyx might've had been disciplined more than usual for a puppy at his age. He is extremely submissive. Once we got Onyx, he began learning some Dutch commands for sit, lay down and between legs/ under legs. Onyx is also trained for the commands: kennel, waiting before eating, speak, shake and roll over. He is extremely eager to please. He is not a huge destroyer of toys, he has his favorites he will bring to you. Not a chewer of furniture and stays off the couch unless invited. He loves the water, being bathed and will lay down for nail clippings and being brushed. Occasionally he may have a human snack such as a French fry or a piece of chicken, however he has a sensitive stomach so it is best to generally stick to dog treats and food. He does fine on a leash but can become excited and tug a little bit. However, he does not lunge at other dogs, or pull to people when walking. Onyx is fully kennel trained but has not been left out over night/ during the day for his own safety and our peace of mind. Onyx enjoys car rides and sticking his nose or head out of the window as many dogs do. He's never met a stranger and is awesome at the vets office for checkups and shots etc. Onyx currently lives with a kitten and is extremely gentle with the kitten, he lets the kitten pounce on him, tug at his tail and 'attack' his face while they play. He's never been aggressive towards another dog or cat. Onyx does have AKC paperwork and is microchipped.
