About Holly

Holly Is Looking for a Soft Place to Land. At approximately 13 years old, Holly finds herself back at Citrus County Animal Services after spending the last eight years as a much-loved family companion. Her owner originally adopted her from this very shelter and, due to health issues and a move, has now had to make the difficult decision to return her. Holly comes with something we don't always have for our shelter dogs - a wonderful history of what she's like in a home. Her owner describes her with one perfect word: lovable. Holly enjoys affection, loves to snuggle, sleeps in bed with her person, has had free run of the house and is reported to be house-trained. She's also accustomed to being left home alone for a couple of hours at a time. And don't let that senior status fool you! Holly still enjoys a little fun. She likes playing with toys, fetching a ball and even playing games where she gets to find a hidden treat. She has enjoyed regular walks and reportedly knows several commands, including sit, down and shake. Holly has lived with a cat and she allowed the cat to be the boss. She has also lived around adults and children. After knowing the comforts of home, Holly is starting over at an age when she deserves those comforts more than ever.
