About Gertie

Hi there, I'm Gertie! I'm a 10-years young, 9lb Miniature Poodle with a whole lot of love to give. My favorite hobbies are snuggling, giving kisses, and being your shadow - I am truly a love bug through and through. FCCR rescued me from a local shelter�'�|I am not sure how I ended up there but it was a rough time. I love my adult humans - especially cuddling with them (including in the big bed) - and I think I would probably do ok with gentle, older kids (12+). I thrive best when my humans are home or with me most of the time. I am sad when my humans leave (and will cry or bark) so no condos for me. I'm also not a fan of thunderstorms - who is really?! - and want my humans close by to comfort me. I am going to try a thundershirt so I hope that helps. I get along great with other dogs; I have not met any felines yet. I walk nicely on a leash and do ok in the car. I enjoy meal time and wish it occurred more frequently through out the day! I take my treats like a little lady. I have good house manners and working on mastering my potty-training skill. I'm very close and improving every day with patience and consistency - I will do best with a family who's home often to help me get outside frequently.
