About Isaiah26

Isaiah is a handsome and sweet boy who wants so very much to be affectionate and like humans, but he is still learning to trust. He is currently recommended for patient and calm adopters with experience befriending feral and unsocialized cats. He will come around: in the three weeks he has been with his foster family, he has gone from shaking in fear under the furniture when they walk into the room, to playing only several feet away from the humans as long as they don't reach toward him. Normally, if he sees you move toward him to pet him or pick him up, he will be frightened and will run, but if he's engrossed in play or feeling lazy after just waking from a nap, he can't be bothered to run away and you can pick him up - and as soon as you do he will purr and cuddle into your arms. Isaiah also feels more confident with humans when other cats are nearby for moral support and calmly interacting with them. He really needs other friendly animals around him, not just for playmates but for emotional support. Isaiah is especially fond of lickable treats like Churu or Delectables, and they can lure him into your lap where he will purr and sit happily for several minutes while you pet him. When the humans aren't too close, Isaiah simply adores friendly cats and will gently try to convince the adults to join him in play. He loves to climb and play chase with kitten friends, and he especially likes wand toys. The one human that he has seemed to like and trust was a dinner guest who visited his foster home covered in dog hair and smells. He spent the whole meal hiding under her chair and rubbing on her legs. A home with a gentle dog who would be his buddy might be the best place for him to finish coming out of his shell and feeling safe with humans, too.
