'Please don't look at my age and think my best years are behind me�'�| I have so much living-and loving-left to do.' Hi, I'm Olive! I'm a beautiful Black Lab mix, estimated to be somewhere around 6-8 years old. I may have a little more life experience than some of the youngsters here, but please don't mistake that for being 'too old.' I still have plenty of life left in me! In fact, there are some pretty great things about adopting a dog my age. My personality is already showing you who I am-and who I am is a very, very sweet girl. I've been wonderful with the shelter staff and volunteers and absolutely soak up human affection. I've also spent time around children and was very kind and gentle with them. So far, I've been non-reactive toward the other dogs at the shelter. Now that my stray hold is over, the staff will be letting me interact with some doggy friends so they can learn more about how I do with them. One thing we already know: NO cats for me, please. I came in as a stray, and no one came to take me home. So now I get to look for something even better-a family who will choose me and love me for all the years I still have ahead. I'm a female and I'm not spayed yet, but my adoption fee includes a spay voucher. Maybe you weren't planning on adopting an older dog. Maybe you came looking for a puppy. But before you pass me by, come spend a little time with me. You might discover that what you really needed wasn't a puppy at all. Maybe you just needed Olive.
