About NANOOK dies on 9/3!!

Siberian Husky
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Needs foster/adopted to save his life! Dies on 9/3!!! Video: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1073563932221021/?fs=e&mibextid=wwXIfr&fs=e Nanook was surrendered to the shelter on August 12th, he's had two weeks two adjust to the shelter, but he's already been euth alerted for his behavior in playgroup. Nanook needs to exit by Wednesday September 2nd, or he will be euthanized the next morning. Nanook is a big lug of a malamute/husky that loves pets and food of all kinds according to his previous owners. Volunteers have noticed his easy and friendly demeanor and his eagerness to sit for a treat. He lived with a small dog, cats, rabbits, kids and was gentle with all of them. But, he needs an EXPERIENCED HOME ONLY that can monitor and supervise intros because he struggled with reactivity with dogs outside the home. This has been mirrored in shelter playgroups where he can be selective, assertive, and has been involved in several scuffles. Like many huskies/malumutes, he's a bit of an escape artist. Nanook needs a savvy family who knows what's up, has had a reactive dog like Nanook before, or he needs to be an only dog with people who can keep him safe. Huskies and malamutes are smart, need exercise and enrichment, and at least a six-foot fence if they are contained in a back yard. Nanook has a sensitivity around his neck and does not like to be restrained, another reason why we're looking for a breed experienced person. Volunteers love this guy, but we don't want to see him back at the shelter or fall into the wrong hands. Nanook has so little time. Please share this post so that he can find a person who is willing to work with him and has the bona fides to do so. Nanook #A2261604 Neutered male 5/6 years old 79 lbs _____ %A0 Visit the shelter!
