Meet Grizelda %9D%A4%8F Location: Omaha, NE DOB: 7/23/2023 Grizelda is a sweet, shy girl who is slowly coming out of her shell and discovering how wonderful it is to be loved. She can be skittish and cautious, especially with new people or unexpected movements, but she is making progress every day and showing more of her loving, goofy personality. She is chill, smart, eager to please, and learns quickly. She listens well and has a good recall, although she isn't treat-motivated, so traditional training can be a challenge. She loves being outside and gets plenty of exercise playing and exploring in the yard. She even does a few hilarious full-speed laps before she poops! Grizelda is housebroken and loves her crate, which is her safe place. She is still learning what it means to be an inside dog and is figuring out things like which objects are toys (she has occasionally taste-tested a shoe!). She does not get on furniture and can become worried if she thinks she has done something wrong, so patience and positive reinforcement are very important. She is cautious with strangers and does best when allowed to approach people on her own terms. She has made great progress and is no longer growling at recent visitors. She has also become more comfortable with her foster family's children, especially the 9-year-old. Because she is sensitive to noise and sudden movements, a home with older, calm children (8+) would be best. Grizelda does well with other female dogs and currently lives peacefully with a 60-pound female Lab mix. She may do well with or without another dog. A cat-free home is preferred, as she has previously chased a cat. She does okay on leash but has not had much leash-walking experience. She tires easily and developed a limp after one walk, so her exercise is currently limited to the yard. She needs a veterinary evaluation of her back hips and hind legs and still needs to be spayed. She can be a little stressed in the car but settles, and thunderstorms don't bother her. Grizelda's ideal home is patient, calm, and willing to let her build confidence at her own pace. A yard would be a huge bonus because she absolutely loves being outside. She is incredibly smart and has even learned yard boundaries through positive reinforcement. Grizelda has come a long way and is ready for someone who will give her the time, patience, and love she needs to continue becoming the confident, affectionate dog she was meant to be. %9D%A4%8F =============================================================================== To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .
