Meet Winnie %9D%A4%8F The Little Potato Princess Who Waited 7 Years to Be Loved For seven years, Winnie lived outside in a yard. She had a family, but she never really got to experience what it meant to be someone's companion-to curl up on a soft bed, enjoy the cool air inside, go for car rides, or simply know that she belonged. Then we rescued her. One of the moments I'll never forget was watching Winnie settle onto a dog bed inside the air conditioning for the first time. She looked so comfortable, so grateful, and so completely content. It was as if she finally realized, 'Wait'| I get to live in here?' ٴ And that is exactly where our little princess belongs. Winnie is a 7-year-old Beagle/Bulldog mix who looks like the most adorable, smiling little potato you've ever seen. %9D%A4%8F She is sweet, gentle, low-key and incredibly endearing. Because Winnie spent her entire life without much socialization, she needs a little patience when meeting someone new. Her version of being nervous is pretty adorable-she'll lie there, give you a concerned little look, look away and quietly observe you. Give her about an hour to realize you're safe, and you'll begin seeing the sweet girl underneath. Winnie responds beautifully to positive reinforcement and is already learning that humans can mean kindness, comfort and love. She LOVES car rides, walks wonderfully on leash and is very friendly with smaller dogs. Bigger dogs make her nervous, so her ideal canine companion would be another small, middle-aged or senior dog with a calm, low-energy personality. She would also be perfectly happy being your one and only. We think Winnie could be an absolutely wonderful companion for a senior or quieter adult looking for a best friend to share their days with. She doesn't need chaos or constant excitement. She wants soft beds, leisurely walks, car rides, snacks, naps and someone who will finally make her feel like part of the family. Because loud noises and rambunctious activity make her uncomfortable, Winnie would do best in a peaceful home without young children or frequently visiting young grandchildren. Winnie spent seven years watching life happen from a backyard. We want the rest of her life to be completely different. We want her sleeping inside on ridiculously comfortable beds. We want someone talking to her like she's their baby. We want car rides, cozy afternoons, little adventures and a person who smiles every time they see that adorable potato face looking back at them. Seven years is long enough to wait to be someone's beloved companion. Winnie deserves to rewrite her story. Maybe the best chapter starts with you. %9D%A4%8F%90%BE
