PLEASE HELP ME SAVE HIM! Weston, Ohio (willing to drive up to anywhere within reason). 1.5 Y/O MALE GSD (DOB: 3/15/25). His name is 'Major.' Background: Major was rescued in April 2026 from the Dog Warden. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. UNKNOWN with kids. Major has Resource Guarding and a possible Abuse/Trauma history. Please read all information below carefully. Good with dogs, but currently being kept separated due to Resource Guarding. He lives with a 2-year-old male Great Pyrenees. Good with cats. He currently lives with a cat. House trained, but is currently staying in a temperature-controlled garage since 7/15/26. Crate trained. Separation anxiety: Yes. Any known medical issues?: No known medical issues disclosed. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: Possible abuse history. His previous history is unknown, but Major does display signs that may be consistent with past Abuse/Trauma. He also has Resource Guarding Behavior. ENERGY LEVEL: Medium. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: High. Weighs 70 lbs. Currently on Costco food. Good with car rides?: Yes. Socialized with: *people?: Yes. *dogs?: Yes. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes, with appropriate introductions and management. Loves: Stuffed toys, bones, chew toys, walks, car rides, playing with dogs, balls, and being near his person. Special Training: Has attended training classes. Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Yes. Good on a Leash?: Yes. Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: YES - 3 known incidents. Major bit the current Shepherd Parent's sister when she reached toward him, which she should have not done. Major bit the current Shepherd Parent's wife following his neutering surgery; the family believes anesthesia may have contributed to this incident. Major bit the current Shepherd Parent on the hand while he was petting him. The Current Shepherd Parent said he had just eaten a jerky stick and Major was sniffing his hand. All incidents were minor and were not reported. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'He is a great dog very obedient great on walks and on the leash in general just needs someone who doesn't have kids and can work with him and help him deal with his past' Re Homing because�'�|: The Current Shepherd Parent's wife is pregnant and is due September 20th. Because of Major's bite history and resource guarding, he is now staying in the garage since 7/15/26 while they search for the right placement. Major is such a good boy who is simply misunderstood and needs someone willing to give him a chance while understanding the seriousness of his behaviors. Will thrive best�'�|?: With an experienced Shepherd person who understands Aggressive Behavior, Resource Guarding, and possible Abuse Trauma. Major needs a home with NO children and NO other dogs due to his Resource Guarding and bite history.
