Those of you that rescue/adopt these Shepherds in need instead of paying a Breeder, YOU are the REAL TRUE HEROES. Thank you so much. [Case opened on 8/28/26]. URGENT!!! Liberty Township, Ohio (willing to drive up to 1 hour). 2 Y/O MALE GSD (DOB: 5/11/24). His name is 'Zeppelin.' AKC Registered. Background: Current Shepherd Parent has had Zeppelin since he was weaned from a breeder. UTD on shots WITH records. NOT Fixed. Good with kids, BUT USE CAUTION due to Resource Guarding and the need for his boundaries to be respected. He currently lives with a 14-year-old. Please read the information below regarding an incident involving the child. Good with dogs, BUT he has Resource Guarding Issues and may guard his territory when other dogs enter his property. NOT Good with cats. He chases cats and does not respect their boundaries, although he is not aggressive toward them. House trained. Crate trained, but he does not need to be crated. He Free-roam the home and has excellent behavior when left alone. Any known medical issues?: No known medical issues disclosed, however, Zeppelin does have an undescended testicle. His current veterinarian has advised that it is not currently considered an issue and that neutering is optional based on your preference. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: None disclosed. ENERGY LEVEL: High. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: Medium. Weighs 95 lbs. Currently on Costco Lamb and Rice & Vegetable food. Good with car rides?: Yes. He loves having the windows cracked open. Socialized with: *people?: Yes. *dogs?: Yes. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes. He may bark initially. Loves: Cuddling, walks, running, belly rubs, ear rubs, bones, toys, fetch, tug, chilling on the couch, playing with dogs, balls, sleeping in bed with his person, being near his person, Pup Cups, treats, peanut butter, frozen blueberries, and Greek yogurt. Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Unknown. Good on a Leash?: Yes. Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: No bite history. However, there was an incident involving the current Shepherd Parent's 14-year-old child. The child was not respecting Zeppelin's boundaries and continued interacting with him despite his signals that he wanted to be left alone. Zeppelin then lunged at the child. This is why respecting his boundaries and recognizing his warning signals is extremely important. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'High energy, loves walks (and runs), loves his people, comes from a loving home, and does get the OCCASIONAL pup cup. He really is a loving, cuddly dog with his person BUT sometimes wants his personal space. Usually, you can tell whether he's feeling cuddly or wanting space.' Re Homing because�'�|: The Current Shepherd Parent does not have the time or resources Zeppelin needs to truly thrive. He needs someone who can fully understand and respect his boundaries, recognize when he needs space, and provide the structure and attention he deserves. When Zeppelin launched at the 14 year old, it was a wake-up call that this is just not the right environment for them. Will thrive best�'�|?: In a loving home as the ONLY pet, with NO children, and with someone experienced with Resource Guarding. His new family must be committed to completely respecting Zeppelin's boundaries, especially when he is tired or showing signs that he needs alone time and space.
