About Callie

Re-homing our 4 year old German Shepherd (pure bred no papers black/sable) due to no fault of her own. Our family is not able to give her the exercise and mental stimulation that she needs. She lost her alpha female companion this spring (due to age) and has tried to establish rank with our other senior shepherd by dominance and he can't tolerate it. We are hoping to find someone that has experience with German Shepherds and where she might be the only dog for awhile. She has a prey drive and will chase cats, small dogs, bunnies etc. She will herd small children and most small children are afraid of her size. She does fine with childred, but we recommend children over the age of 7. She is crate trained but doesn't particularly like it and will find a way to open the door. She knows basic commands and could learn more. She loves to work. She is fixed and up to date on vaccines as of June 2026. We are asking a small re-homing fee of $200. Her new family needs to own their home and have space for her to run. She has lived in the country all of her life. She likes to escape our fenced in yard but always comes back after exploring.
