Meet Sam - The Dog Who Keeps Getting Overlooked Some dogs make you wonder how they haven't been adopted yet. Sam is one of those dogs. There is nothing complicated about this sweet boy. Sam isn't asking for an extraordinary home or an extraordinary person. He just wants somebody to choose him. Sam is one of the easiest, most laid-back dogs you could hope to meet. He loves people, gets along with other dogs, likes cats, and is wonderful to walk on a leash. He does great in a crate, although he's such an easy boy that he doesn't necessarily need one. He's simply happy to be with you. Sam has already overcome more than his share. He was once heartworm positive, went through treatment, and is now heartworm negative and ready to begin the part of his life we've been promising him - the part where he finally goes home. But that home still hasn't come. And Sam has waited. And waited. That's the heartbreaking thing about him. He's not the dog bouncing off the walls demanding that everyone notice him. He's the quiet, gentle guy who seems to believe that eventually someone will stop, look at him, and realize: 'That's my dog.' We keep telling Sam his person is out there. That one day somebody is going to see what we've seen all along - an incredibly sweet, easygoing dog who doesn't need much to be happy. A comfortable place to sleep. A nice walk. Maybe a dog or cat friend. And most importantly, a mom or dad of his very own. Sam has done enough waiting. Maybe the person we've been promising him is you.
