About Ace

��%BD��%BD%90%BE Hi, I'm Ace! ��%BD��%BD��%BD%A4 I'm about 1.5 years old and I'm a Belgian Malinois. I'm currently staying with my foster mom in Lutz, FL (near Tampa) while I search for my forever home. I'm looking for an experienced family who understands working breeds and can help me be the best dog I can be. I'm a super sweet boy who does great with people, kids, and other dogs. I came from a home with a GSD, and because I'm a pretty nervous guy, I really benefit from having another confident dog around. I should do fine with other male dogs, but I can sometimes try to compete for the top spot. Since I previously lived with an older female dog, my foster mom thinks I may do especially well in a home with a female dog who can help me feel safe and confident. I haven't met any cats yet, so we're not sure how I'd do with them. I do well with kids, but because I'm still building confidence, I'd do best with older children rather than very young kids. Quick or unpredictable movements and chaotic behavior can make me nervous, so a calmer home would be a better fit for me. I'm house trained and know sit and paw. We're currently working on crate training and leash training, and I'm learning more every day! I'm smart and do really well with consistency, even if I can be a little stubborn sometimes. A couple things about me: I'm still learning that my crate is a safe place. It sometimes makes me a little anxious, but my foster mom is helping me build positive associations with it. I'm also a little underweight right now, and she's working on getting me back to a healthy weight. Depending on when I find my forever home, that may be something my new family will need to continue helping me with. I'm looking for a home with someone who has experience with Malinois, German Shepherds, or other working breeds and can give me the structure, training, exercise, and patience I need. Because I'm nervous, I'd do best in a home with another dog rather than being the only dog. If you think we'd be a good match, send my foster mom a message.
