About MAGNOLIA

Adoption Fee: $500
Dachshund
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

MAGNOLIA is a beautiful 18-month-old, 16.8 pound Dachshund. She was a stray roaming near a construction site, where she had given birth to four tiny puppies underneath a shed. Her babies were only two days old when they came to us, and although Magnolia was literally skin and bones, she had kept every one of them healthy. She was an amazing mama, and now that her puppies are finding their homes and she is happy and healthy, it's her turn, too. Personality-wise, this girl is an absolute sweetheart. MAGNOLIA has not met a stranger yet. She seems to love everyone she meets and happily hands out kisses, snuggles, and plenty of nose nudges, although sometimes those nose nudges are less about affection and more about reminding you that you have a ball to throw. MAGNOLIA's greatest love may actually be fetch. She brings the ball back every single time, can catch it in midair, and would happily play all day if we let her. We actually have to make her take breaks because she doesn't know when enough is enough! MAGNOLIA does fine with the other dogs in her foster home but doesn't pay much attention to them, so we think she could be perfectly happy as an only dog. She has not been tested with toddlers, and because of her energy and enthusiasm when playing, we think older children would be a better fit. We are pretty sure she will chase cats. MAGNOLIA is housebroken and uses the dog door in her foster home, although she can also wait to be let outside. She loves chew bones and toys, especially the kind she can destroy! Because running and playing are such a big part of what makes her happy, we want her new home to have a securely fenced yard. MAGNOLIA has always slept in a dog bed while in foster care, mostly because she's been with her puppies, but we have a feeling she'd be perfectly happy discovering the big bed, too. MAGNOLIA is up to date on shots, spayed, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime prevention. She is heartworm positive and has started treatment which will be continued by the rescue until she is heartworm negative. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
