Lima, Ohio (willing to drive up to 1 hour). 10 Y/O FEMALE AKC REGISTERED GSD (DOB: 6/29/16). Her name is 'Athena.' AKC Registered. Background: Current Shepherd Parent has had Athena since she was weaned. UTD on shots WITH record. She just needs her Bordetella updated. Fixed. Good with kids. Currently lives with children ages 4 and 5. Good with dogs. Currently lives with male small-breed dogs. Good with cats. She is curious and wants to play but is not aggressive. House trained. Crate trained, but is currently trained to Free-roam. Any known medical issues?: No known medical issues disclosed. Athena sometimes experiences joint pain and takes supplements, but has no diagnosis for the joint pain. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: Athena has trauma from previously being hit on the head with boots by the current Shepherd Parent's ex. Because of this, she does not like new people touching her head. ENERGY LEVEL: Medium. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: Low. Weighs 65 lbs. Currently on Freshpet food. Good with car rides?: Yes. Socialized with: *people?: Yes. *dogs?: Yes. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes, but because of her past trauma, new people should allow Athena to become comfortable before attempting to touch her head. Loves: People, kids, being near her person, bones, bacon, chicken, treats, cuddling, walks, playing with kids, balls, fetch, peanut butter, steak, toys, and bones. Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): YES. Good on a Leash?: YES. Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: None disclosed. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'Athena is a wonderfully sweet girl that you will absolutely love to have at home. She does not chew, she does not break anything, she is loving and adores children. She has always been a very happy girl and very well behaved as well. I cannot stress how loving this shepherd is and what a wonderful addition to your family she will be.' Re Homing because�'�|: Athena's Current Shepherd Parent is going through a divorce and is unable to take Athena to her new apartment. Athena is an Anxiety Animal and will be a great companion for the right person. Will thrive best�'�|?: With someone who is home often, will respect her age and established routine, will avoid crating her unless absolutely necessary, and can give her lots of attention, affection, cuddles, and companionship. Her new family should also be committed to continuing her supplements to help prevent joint pain. 'She needs to be loved and cuddled with everyday.
