Meet Winston - proof that life is about heart, not eyesight. Hi friends! My name is Winston, and I'm a 7-8 year-old, 24-pound Westie mix looking for a forever family that will love me just the way I am. Yes, I'm mostly blind because of cataracts'| but that's only one small part of my story. I still enjoy walks, love riding in the car, and nothing makes me happier than curling up on a cozy couch next to my people. Once I learn my surroundings, I get around just fine-especially if there are area rugs to help guide me! Here's a little more about me: House and crate trained Up to date on vaccinations Dog friendly with calm, respectful companions (puppies are a little too much for me!) Enjoy leisurely walks and car rides Allergies are well-managed on a salmon-based diet What I'm hoping for is simple: A patient family that understands I'll need a little time to learn my new home. A quieter household where I won't be easily startled. Because of my limited vision, I'd do best without young children. Soft places to nap, plenty of love, and people who will see me for who I am-not what I can't see. The rescue is not able to provide cataract surgery at this time without sponsorship, but I don't let that keep me from enjoying life. I'm ready to give my whole heart to someone willing to give me a chance. Could that someone be you? %8D Fostered in Westminster, MD Please share! Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs. Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate.
