Amara is a 6 year-old Husky/cattle dog mix. She has been with her family since puppyhood. Around 2 years-old, she began displaying separation anxiety, which has increased as she has grown older. Her owner is a single working mom with a baby and 5 year-old, living in town. She loves this dog very much but struggles with the time and resources to help her. Amara is currently on calming medications prescribed by the family's vet, which help somewhat. Her only issue, but it is a significant one, is her SA. She needs to be adopted by a person or family who is home most of the time, who understands and has experience with separation anxiety in dogs, and will commit to patiently working with her. Her owner is very concerned that, if she cannot find a good home for her, she may have to be euthanized. Do you live on a farm or acreage? Would you consider welcoming a dog into your family that is sweet, loving, and well-behaved with people and animals IF she is not kenneled and left alone? If dog containment and frequently being away from home are not aspects of your lifestyle, and you can offer space for a dog to run and play and enjoy bonding time with this affectionate dog, Amara may be a great canine addition to your family. Amara is a calm, happy, loving girl when she is not kenneled and when her family is home. Please feel free to call with any questions. We can transport. Thank you.
