Evie Needs a Foster or Adopter to Secure Her Ride to Wisconsin Evie is currently in a kill shelter Alabama and needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER to secure her spot on transport to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue. Her transport date is still TBD, but we are hoping to bring her to Wisconsin once she has a committed home waiting for her. Meet Evie Evie is a 2-year-old chocolate Lab mix who is full grown at 43 pounds. This sweet girl has so many wonderful qualities and would make an amazing addition to just about any family. Evie is incredibly affectionate and loves everyone she meets. She is extremely dog friendly and is actually one of the shelter's dog testers, helping other dogs learn how to socialize and interact with canine friends. She is also cat friendly and kid friendly, making her a great fit for a variety of homes. Evie is leash trained and enjoys going for walks. She also likes car rides and would likely be the perfect companion for someone looking for a dog who is ready to join them on adventures. After some fun, Evie is more than happy to settle in and soak up some affection from her people. Evie is fully vetted and ready for her future family to take her home! Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, that works too! **Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
