Baby Tanner's Story MAMA MALLORY & HER BABIES NEED HOMES They started their lives hiding behind a trash dumpster in an abandoned desert lot, in an area where people struggling with drug addiction and homelessness were living. Mama Mallory was doing the only thing she knew how to do - keeping her babies alive. Thankfully, a wonderful Good Samaritan found this little family and refused to leave them behind. They took Mama and her babies in, and when we learned about them, Concerned Citizens Animal Rescue stepped up to take on the whole family. Now the babies are almost 4 months old, vaccinated and microchipped, and they are finally ready for something they have never had before: Homes of their very own. Mama Mallory appears to be a Border Collie / Flat-Coated Retriever mix - our veterinarians best guess. As for Dad? Your guess is as good as ours! These babies are 100% Mama Mallory and 100% mystery on the other side. Meet the family: REUBEN - BOY Reuben is absolutely gorgeous with his beautiful rust-colored coat. Hes a little shy when he first meets you, but give him a minute and that sweet personality starts to come out. Once he realizes youre his friend, he warms up quickly. Hes a gentle little soul looking for someone who will make him feel safe and loved. TANNER - BOY Tanner is the quintessential puppy boy. Playful, happy, silly and ready for an adventure. If puppies could wear baseball caps, Tanner would absolutely have his on backwards. His gorgeous sand-colored coat makes him even more irresistible. Hes the kind of puppy who is going to make his family laugh every single day. BABY ECHO - BOY Sweet Baby Echo can be a little bashful at first, but underneath that shy exterior is a serious cuddle buddy. Hes the kind of puppy who just needs to know hes safe - and then hell happily settle into your arms and your heart. BABY CUB - BOY A fluffy black ball of absolute cuteness! Baby Cub somehow manages to be mild-mannered and playful all at the same time. Hes sweet, fluffy, adorable and just waiting for someone to realize hes their baby. BABY SOLO - THE ONLY GIRL! One girl surrounded by brothers - so naturally, shes the princess! Baby Solo is a gorgeous black beauty with a regal little presence all her own. Shes beautiful, confident and special, and after growing up with a whole pack of brothers, she knows exactly how to hold her own. MAMA MALLORY And then theres Mama. Mallory gave everything she had to her babies. Shes still much too thin after nursing so many puppies without adequate nutrition, but since coming into our care, shes finally gaining weight and getting stronger. Her legs and paws show the beautiful structure of a Border Collie, while her soft, expressive face reflects the gentle, affectionate nature of a Flat-Coated Retriever. We estimate Mallory will be around 65-70 pounds at a healthy weight. Shes wonderful with children and other animals and deserves to finally experience a life where someone takes care of her. No more abandoned lots. No more hiding behind dumpsters. No more wondering where the next meal is coming from. Every single member of this family needs a home. The puppies are vaccinated and microchipped, and Concerned Citizens Animal Rescue will cover all of their spay and neuter surgeries when they reach 6 months old at Simi Valley Spay Neuter Clinic.
