Cooper's Story Meet Cooper 3-Year-Old Husky/Shepherd Mix Neutered Vaccinated Microchipped Some dogs just need someone to believe in them. When Cooper entered Downey Animal Care Center, his future looked incredibly uncertain. He had been labeled as vicious and was housed away from public view, making it unlikely that anyone would ever see the sweet dog hiding underneath. But once we learned more about his story, everything started to make sense. Cooper had been surrendered by his previous owner, who admitted they simply didnt have time for him. Instead of being part of a family, he spent much of his life alone in a backyard. By the time he arrived at the shelter, he was battling a severe upper respiratory infection and was bleeding from his penis because he had not yet been neutered. Frightened, sick, and confused, Cooper wasnt at his best-and who could blame him? We knew there was so much more to this handsome boy. Today, Cooper is healthy, thriving, and living with his wonderful foster mom in Hollywood. His URI has completely cleared, hes been neutered, and hes feeling better than ever. Now hes ready to begin the life hes always deserved. Cooper is estimated to be 3 years old and is a stunning Husky/Shepherd mix with mesmerizing heterochromia-one brilliant blue eye and one warm brown eye that make him absolutely unforgettable. He loves playing fetch, going on long walks, jogging alongside his people, and soaking up affection from those he trusts. Cooper has been working hard to build confidence around new people. Hes perfectly happy to be petted by strangers and politely lets you know when hes had enough by simply walking away. Hes a respectful, gentle communicator. Cooper has interacted well with other dogs and generally tolerates them, though he tends to enjoy having his own space. He may do well with another compatible dog after proper introductions, but hed also thrive as the center of someones world. He has not yet been tested with cats. Watching Cooper transform has been one of the greatest joys for our rescue. The dog who once sat hidden in a shelter, misunderstood and overlooked, has blossomed into a loyal, affectionate companion with so much love left to give. We cherish this boy and are incredibly grateful we were able to save him from a fate that likely would have ended in euthanasia. If youd like to adopt Cooper, please send your inquiry to [email protected]. Cooper is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and ready to find the loving forever home he has always deserved. He is currently in Los Angeles CA with his foster mama. Meet and greets are currently open. Concerned Citizens Animal Rescue (CCAR) To Give Choice to the Voiceless.
