Neutered rescue Snoopy has been my loyal companion for the past four years. He's a sweet, sensitive dog who thrives in a calm, predictable environment. Before I adopted him, he experienced abuse and trauma, and while he's made incredible progress, he still does best with patience, consistency, and a low-stress lifestyle. Ideal Home Quiet, calm household Few visitors Preferably with 1 owner, a woman Older, low-energy dog or as an only pet Someone home often (Watches tv all day. He loves to Velcro) Experience with anxious or rescue dogs Why I'm Rehoming Him Recently, we moved into a much larger home with another resident and several frequent visitors. This has been a significant change from the quiet environment Snoopy was accustomed to for the past four years. Since the move, he has struggled with the transition and has experienced increased anxiety, occasional anxiety-related urination (which has improved and is managed with a belly band when needed), difficulty relaxing, and other signs of stress. I've worked with a behaviorist and tried medication, but despite these efforts, he continues to struggle in this environment. For the past four years, Snoopy was content spending much of the day napping while I was away. Now, with a roommate who works from home, is on calls throughout the day, and regularly has visitors, there is far more activity than Snoopy is comfortable with. My roommate has been very understanding, but it isn't fair to expect her to manage his anxiety and ongoing training needs. This is an incredibly difficult decision because I love Snoopy deeply. My goal is simply to find him a home where he can feel safe, comfortable, and truly thrive during his senior years. (Photos attached) I'm looking to rehome him on September 8th. One last visit to the family cabin the week before. Thank you.
