About Rubio

Rubio is a sweet, affectionate, healthy boy who is up to date on vaccinations, house-trained, and non-destructive when left alone. He loves spending time with his people and relaxing throughout the day. �%A0 Rubio is naturally wary of strangers and needs time and patience to warm up to new people. He currently lives with young children and, despite his owners' best efforts to teach and supervise respectful interactions, the children have struggled to consistently give him the space he needs. His owners have made the difficult decision to rehome him because they want to prevent him from ever reaching a point where he feels he needs to defend himself to have his boundaries respected. He does have resource guarding with the kids in the home but not the adults. �%A0 Rubio's ideal home: �'ۢ Adults only, or children 13+ who are dog savvy and respectful of boundaries �'ۢ No other pets, as he prefers human companionship �'ۢ A yard or outdoor space, as he loves being outside �'ۢ Patient adopters willing to give him time to adjust and build trust �%A0 His owners are committed to finding the right fit and will keep him until that happens. Vet references, introductions in a neutral location, and a small rehoming fee will be required. Foster-to-adopt arrangements and trial periods may also be considered for approved adopters.
