About Ruedi

Ruedi is a young adult, 1.5 year old, 9 pound Chihuahua mix (Chihuahua and Mini-Pinscher) with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He is happiest when he has a routine that includes lots of play time (tug of war is his favorite) followed by snuggling close by his person and dog siblings that he bonds with - this also helps during periods of separation. Ruedi loves car rides, leisurely walks, playing and snuggling (allowed on the couch and bed to rest/sleep). Like many Chihuahuas, Ruedi forms strong bonds with his person, prefers to be the center of attention, and is used to being with his person for the majority of the day. Because of this, he would do best in a home either as an only dog where someone will be with him to provide the attention and companionship he deserves, or with another small dog to play with that is closer to his age. Ruedi has a classic Chihuahua personality - he is very sweet, affectionate, spoiled, and devoted, but knows what he likes and is not afraid to express himself! He is potty trained (outside and pee-pad), knows basic commands (sit, down, stay, wait, come, place, and off), and will do very well in an atmosphere with a routine. Ruedi is not crate trained and tends to be very vocal, please consider your home environment/atmosphere prior to inquiring as this will be critical for Ruedi (e.g., an apartment will not be advised).
