About Pecas

Pecas is an adorable 8-month-old Chihuahua weighing just 9 pounds, with long little legs, a happy personality, and enough puppy energy to keep you smiling all day. His name, Pecas, means 'freckles' in Spanish-which is pretty funny because Pecas is almost completely white! He does have one little spot on his rear that makes his name even more fitting and adds to his unique, adorable look. Pecas came to ROOT Rescue as an owner surrender through no fault of his own. His family adopted him when he was around 6 months old, but unfortunately, their landlord later discovered they had a dog and did not allow pets. They had no choice but to surrender Pecas. While this situation is heartbreaking, it is also an important reminder for anyone considering adding a dog to their family: if you rent, always confirm with your landlord or property management that dogs are allowed before bringing one home. Breed restrictions, size limits, pet policies, and additional fees can vary, and making sure everything is approved beforehand can prevent a family and their dog from experiencing a situation like Pecas' again. The good news is that Pecas is safe with us now, and we're determined to find him a family who is ready to make a lifelong commitment to him. Pecas is still very much a baby. Although he's 8 months old, he acts even younger! He's playful, bouncy, silly, and incredibly sweet. He loves to have fun and is always ready for his next adventure. And for a Chihuahua, he may surprise you-he isn't particularly barky! ���� Of course, we love our Chihuahuas whether they're vocal little commentators or quiet companions. We love them all! Pecas is the kind of pup who will happily bounce his way into your life and become your little sidekick. His long legs make him extra adorable and give him a unique look, and he's ready to put those legs to work exploring the world with his forever family. Whether it's going for walks, discovering new places, playing with toys, or simply spending time together at home, Pecas is looking for someone who wants to experience all the fun that comes with raising a young dog. Because Pecas is still young, his future family should be prepared for the commitment that comes with a puppy. He will need continued training, structure, patience, socialization, and plenty of love as he grows into adulthood. In return, you'll have a best friend ready to share years of adventures with you. Pecas has been fully vetted and is ready for his forever home. He is veterinarian checked, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and heartworm and Lyme tested. Pecas has already had one family change before he even reached his first birthday. Now we're looking for the family who will make sure he never has to start over again.
