About Macho

Macho is a 5-year-old Chihuahua with a big personality packed into a little body. When at home, he's a spunky, curious guy. Macho genuinely enjoys exploring, playing, and being involved in whatever his people are doing. He's very motivated with treats, loves to play and roughhouse, and has a goofy, silly side that makes him a lot of fun to be around. Macho has completed a two-week professional training program and has a great foundation of obedience. He knows commands including sit, stay, and recall. Macho is working on being neutral while on walks and being around other dogs and people. He responds well to clear direction and structure. One thing his future home should understand is that Macho does not like fast-moving things such as bicycles, runners, or similar activity can tempt him to chase. He does well when his handler recognizes this and steps in early to redirect him and let him know that behavior isn't appropriate. Macho would love to be in a home where it is quiet and he can sit with his people and watch tv or relax and is willing to continue reinforcing what he had learned from his trainer. His trainer is willing to work with his new family in helping adjust to his new home. He would not be a good fit for a home with young children who will be running around him. Macho has a ton of personality and a lot going for him. With the right person who understands his quirks and continues the skills he has already learned, he has the potential to be an incredibly fun little companion.
