Schmidty is a sweet, loyal Shih Tzu who does best in a calm, predictable home with one or two adults who understand his quirks and respect his boundaries. He has a mild to severe chicken allergy and must stay on a strict chicken free diet, and he has a history of resource guarding, especially around high value items like food, treats, remotes, phones, or shoes. He's semi house trained and thrives with patient adults who can maintain a steady routine, give him space when he needs it, and help reinforce good habits. In the right environment, Schmidty becomes a devoted, funny, and comforting companion who just wants to feel safe and understood.
