The shelter is FULL, euthanizing perfectly good doggies due to lack of space!!! Which dogs are chosen is a crapshoot. Geradine arrived at the shelter on June 30th, as an owner surrender, which puts her at greater risk of ending up on that tragic list, euthanized! Is estimated to be between 2-4 years old, shorter side, but stocky. One of the volunteers who has taken her out onto the shelter yard, says she is a terrific girl, is loved by many there. Geradine is very affectionate, likes her treats, playful, enjoys her time out in the yard, and is easy to walk on leash. She has good leash tests with other dogs at the shelter, bit timid, though. Is no to cats. Has what is called, 'cherry eye', which will need medical treatment, easy fix. If adopted from the shelter, the cost of the repair will be borne by a wonderful donor. Geradine can also be fostered. If find a committed foster parent, there are rescue orgs that will 'pull' her out of the shelter. If want to see other wonderful dogs, who are also in great need of finding a loving home, scroll down & click on, 'Chicago Animal Care and Control', left-hand side. Come. Please.
