About Neville

Meet Neville! 8 month old male cattle dog mix! Neville is now in foster care in the Knoxville TN area. He is neutered, has current vaccines, and will be heartworm tested Sunday. He loves dogs and people. An application, home visit, references, and rehoming/adoption fee will apply (which won't even cover the vet bills and will be donated back to the shelter). Only homes within a few hours can be considered. Must have experience with active young dogs and understand that training will be needed. He learns quickly, but doesn't love the crate when left alone and will cry (sleeps through the night with crate in bedroom, so this is separation anxiety, not true crate anxiety and can be worked on). With patience and time, he will be a wonderful dog. Listed as high energy due to puppy activities but may turn in to a chill dog with regular walks and outlets to burn some energy. Strong preference for homes with fenced yards and no young children, but individual situations can be considered based on experience. I have not cat tested him. I also want to mention his siblings Navi and Nori are still in the completely full Pulaski County, VA Animal Control. Nori is neutered (male) with current rabies. Nori is a female and is supposed to be on the list for spay. The shelter is code red and posted fees are waived for dogs there over 100 days (they were dumped in May so that applies). If interested in them please apply through the shelter. I learned about these because one of the siblings was adopted and matched (through embark) as a half sibling or cousin for the dog I adopted years ago from the same shelter. My dog is half cattle dog and I traced her genes to a titled cattle dog breeder in TN. I originally was just going to sponsor their spay/neuter, but when the shelter went code red and then got another hoarding case on top of that, I picked up Neville for out of state foster. I am currently trying to find a rescue to work with and have contacted several, but he is staying with me until he finds his forever home and/or great rescue placement. I absolutely cannot keep him permanently as I have health issues and two dogs already.
