Freedom days are my favorite and make me so happy. Meet Cabbage aka Max, #27-01367 from the Seaaca shelter. He was scheduled to die at the shelter on August 7, 2026 at four pm. That morning, one of our fosters reached out and said they would like to foster this dog. Who are we to say no when when there is a senior dog about to be killed at a shelter. We pulled him on August 8, 2026 around 2pm and at 4pm, when he was schedule d to be killed, he was at our veterinarian office getting an exam and bloodwork! We received a grant this year from the grey muzzle foundation which covers the cost of the initial veterinarian exam and blood work. Cabbage is a pretty healthy little dog He doesn't have a heart murmur. He doesn't have many teeth, but the teeth he has are in good shape. He has good mobility, and he can both see and hear. When he arrived at the shelter, he was flea infested and had a matted coat. The shelter groomed him and he's doing much better now that he is on flea medication. He is available for adoption! Until then, he's in a wonderful foster home.
