About Taco

Hi there! My name is Taco, and I am a small approximately 5-year-old Chihuahua with a massive, fearless 'big dog' personality! I am about 2 years old, and to put it simply: I ain't scared of anything or anyone. I approach the world with total confidence and a whole lot of charm. Don't let my brave exterior fool you, though-I am the ultimate definition of a lap dog and a certified cuddle bug. I love standing and laying right on your legs, and when you pick me up, I'll show my appreciation by rubbing my face and chest right against yours. I'm a beautifully silly boy who loves to snuggle deep under the blankets, but I have one strict rule: I must be touching you! Whether it's your chest, stomach, or even just resting against your feet, I need that human contact to happily drift off to sleep. When it comes to other dogs, I am friendly with all sizes, but I do value my personal space. If another dog invades my bubble, I might give a little nip to say, 'back up, please.' The great news is that I am a very smart boy who understands corrections quickly, and I am learning to work through this boundary setting like a champ! I'm also just figuring out how toys work. While I don't care much for standard dog toys yet, I am always down for a game of tug with a sock if you start the fun. I am also making great progress in my home manners! I am completely a pro with my crate-I go in without a peep when you leave, and I even choose to nap in there while you're home. However, if I catch you sitting on the bed or couch, I will instantly leave my crate to come claim my snuggle time. We are working really, really hard on our potty training right now. I have a big passion for marking my territory, so I am still a work in progress and not fully housebroken yet, but with a structured routine and patient guidance, I know I'll get there.
