About Dusty

Meet Dusty, a handsome 9-year-old Shih Tzu who weighs 14 pounds and is ready to find a new family to love. Dusty came into rescue as a local owner surrender. His owner had him since he was just a puppy and cared for him throughout his life, but unfortunately, wasn't able to care for him any longer. Dusty has been well cared for his entire life, and it shows. At 9 years old, Dusty has moved past the puppy nonsense and has settled nicely into his favorite role: being with his people. He is happiest when he can be close to the humans he loves and included in whatever is happening around the house. Dusty does well with other dogs and is used to living with another dog, so having a canine companion is perfectly fine with him. But if Dusty had to choose his favorite thing in the world, it would be his people. He loves going for walks and is always happy to get out and explore with his people. Dusty is doing well at housetraining but needs to be watched and taken outside often. At his foster home, he is never kenneled. He is free to roam the house and enjoys the freedom to settle wherever he is most comfortable. He has proven to be a very easygoing little guy who simply enjoys being part of the household. If you're looking for a gentle companion who simply wants to be loved and included, Dusty might be your guy. Dusty is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
