About Elvis

This is actually a hard post to write because Elvis is a wonderful dog. But the more I watch him, the more I feel like he may be meant for something more than what I can give him. Elvis is an Australian Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix, and he is incredibly smart, eager to please and happiest when he has something to do. He learns quickly, loves to work and absolutely thrives on using his brain. So I'm not simply looking for someone who wants a pet. I'm putting feelers out for a very specific kind of home or opportunity where his natural abilities could really be developed. I would especially love to connect with someone experienced in scent work/nose work, working-dog training, or someone involved in agility competitions who is looking for a smart, athletic dog with a strong desire to learn and work. I would also be very interested in speaking with a legitimate organization that trains dogs for veterans, and I would consider donating Elvis to a K9-for-veterans program if he were evaluated and found to have the right temperament and abilities. This isn't about needing Elvis gone. There is no deadline. I can be patient and very selective. I just have this nagging feeling that this boy has more in him, and maybe there is someone out there who will recognize exactly what that 'more' is. ��%BD%9D%A4��%BD��%BD%8F If you are involved in scent work, agility, working dogs, service-dog training or know a reputable organization that might be interested in evaluating him, please reach out or share this with the right person. A rehoming fee will apply for a private placement. Elvis has had approximately $1,000 invested in professional training, and I'm looking for someone who is genuinely prepared to continue working with him. The fee isn't about recouping what we've spent - it's another way of making sure inquiries are serious and that this is the right opportunity for him. The fee would, of course, be waived for an approved nonprofit/service-dog or veterans K9 program. I don't want just another home for Elvis. I want to find out if he has a purpose I haven't been able to give him. ��%BD��%BD%90%BE
