Name: CORDY Breed: Pit Mix Age: 9 months (approximately 50#) Sex: Female (spayed - not confirmed) Location: Mesa County, CO Vet Info: UTD on vaccines (not confirmed). HW negative (not confirmed). Owner reports that Cordy is half blind and half deaf. Owner reports: Cordy is reported to be a half blind, half deaf, pitbull puppy that was rescued 9 months ago from a neglectful situation. 'We are looking for a place to surrender her to because we live in a two story home and she can't navigate going down stairs to go outside. We also feel like she needs a place that can give her the enrichment she needs/deserves. We would prefer not to have to leave her with Animal Services.' Cordy is reported to be an indoor dog with the run of the house. She is not house broken or leash trained. 'We did puppy training and she did well, but she does not understand commands. She only understands how to sit with treats.' Cordy is reported to be outgoing, good with adults and teenagers as well as other dogs and cats. Cordy is currently in a home with 2 older dogs and a cat. Owner reports that Cordy 'can navigate everywhere around our almost acre property but runs into walls and doorjambs in the home, she can also hear you but doesn't seem to know where the sound is coming from, she can navigate going up stairs but can't see them to go down them.' 'The vet does not know why she is blind, he thinks maybe brain issues. We also believe it was because she was the runt and not kept in an environment or socialized in a way that would help her to develop which caused her to develop much slower than her peers.' 'She's an amazing sweetheart, in need of a one story home with someone who has the ability to provide her the direction and support she needs, would not recommend a home with small children as she loves to 'mouth' everything as this is the way she explores her world.' Can anyone help Cordy? **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
