Poor MAX cannot understand why the family he loved - who got evicted from their home - abandoned him to the cruel New York City kill pound. Through no fault of his own, this sweet boy's life now hangs in the balance. MAX is a cheerful, affectionate, and playful 3-yr-old family dog. MAX loves relaxing by his people's side, cuddling, playing with his toys, engaging in tug-of-war, taking car rides, and, of course, treats! MAX has the perfect blend of playful energy and laid-back moments on the couch. MAX is crate and housetrained, walks calmly on a leash, and knows basic commands like 'sit' and 'stay.' The kill pound volunteer who fell in love with him describes him as 'my sweet, gentle teddy bear.' MAX's laidback, happy-go-lucky nature would also make him ideal for older retired couples. We can't allow his story to end in an ugly city kill pound. Please open your heart and home to lovable MAX, who is neutered, up-to-date on all shots, and, aside from being slightly overweight, is in excellent overall health. The 501(c)(3) rescue group committed to saving MAX's life will waive his adoption fee and provide free transportation to your home anywhere in the northeast, and we'll support him thereafter for life. Please step up to save sweet MAX!
