About Axle

At 1 year old, Axle is a fabulous blend of young-dog energy with a gentle, old-soul spirit. He is surely one of the most polite & handsomest guys in town. We think Axle is a Pointer/Lab/Hound mix of sorts. He is about 45 lbs and full grown! Axle is a star pupil. He knows a handful of commands and is a master at giving paw. The best thing? He takes treats ever so gently. He's a polite gentleman through and through. Axle lives with two older dogs and is very respectful. Axle loves to romp and wrestle but knows his boundaries. Axle would be fine with another dog and playmate but could also learn to live as an only dog. His bond with his human will be the most important thing for him and has proven that way in his foster home. Cats? Bring them on... he loves those felines! A fenced-in yard is Axle's happy place. It gives him the security he needs to relax, play, and explore at his own pace. However, he would consider a fenceless yard with a patient person that would dedicate the time with him on leash (he's good at the leash!). Axle rides well in the car too! While Axle is a hesitant guy, in the right hands he will move forward with a confident and trusted leader at his side. He is shy in meeting new people but he will do almost anything for a treat. He is looking for a family that will celebrate his wins big and small and provide a nurturing environment where he can truly blossom. Axle is housebroken, crate-trained and completely respectful of home things!
