About Pogo

Meet Pogo! Just look at those eyes! Pogo is a handsome, affectionate young pup who absolutely loves being part of the family. We believe he may be a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Pointer mix, although, like with most rescue dogs, his breed is simply our best educated guess. Pogo certainly has some features that make us think this combination could be hiding in his family tree! His beautiful light eyes, short sleek coat, long athletic legs, lean build, floppy ears, and expressive face give him a look reminiscent of both breeds. Catahoulas and Pointers are known for being intelligent, energetic, loyal, playful, and devoted to their people. Both tend to be active dogs who enjoy having something to do and being included in family life. Pogo already shows many of those wonderful qualities-he is social, affectionate, playful, and happiest when he gets to be right in the middle of everything! One of Pogo's absolute favorite things is kids. He is currently fostered in a home with children ranging in age from 6 to 17, and he simply cannot get enough of their attention and affection. Their friends are frequently coming and going too, so Pogo is accustomed to a busy household with lots of different kids around. He loves soaking up all the pets, cuddles, and attention they are willing to give him! Pogo is also very dog-social and dog-friendly. He enjoys having canine friends and loves opportunities to interact and play with other dogs. And this handsome boy already has some important skills under his belt! Pogo is potty trained and leash trained. He will go into his crate when needed, although if you ask Pogo, he'd much rather snuggle up with his people for the night. Pogo is still a young puppy and at such a great age for his future family to continue helping shape him into the kind of companion they're looking for. With patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and plenty of love, he'll continue learning and growing into a happy, confident, and well-mannered adult dog. Like all puppies, Pogo will still need continued guidance with basic manners and those important puppy lessons-like remembering what is and isn't a chew toy! The time and effort his family puts into him now will help build the foundation for the wonderful lifelong companion he has every potential to become. Whether he's curled up snoozing with his people, hanging out in the middle of a busy household, playing with his furry friends, or looking at you with those gorgeous light eyes, Pogo is an incredibly lovable little guy. He has all the makings of a wonderful family companion and best friend. Pogo is ready for a family who is excited to love him, include him, and watch him grow into the amazing dog we know he can be.
