We've had Dexter since he was 10 wks old. Adopted from a breeder in Arkansas in 2020. He'll be 6 yrs old on December 31. He started off with amazing temperament, however, at around 4 yrs old, his temperament changed. He has bitten almost everyone in the home, usually out of fear or not wanting to be bothered. We are unsure as to what has taken place to change his temperament, and a trainer suggested it could be something neurological. Unfortunately, we can't afford the fees associated with doing a full work up to determine the cause. He is neutered and only a couple of months past due on shots. It is my hope that someone who is skilled with rehabbing behavioral issues in dogs will adopt him and love him forever. We were going to stick it out for the long haul with him, however, one of my children needs to return home and her being bitten by him has caused her to be severely fearful, which I understand. I love Dex with my whole heart. He's my soul dog. Sleeps with me every night, but I know I can't help him and it would be unfair to him and my daughter to cohabitate. I don't want to surrender him to a shelter for fear they will euthanize due to his behavior. Please, someone who is experienced, patient, and loving, take my baby boy and give him the best life. Small rehoming fee to show seriousness and good intention for adopting. Thank you.
