About Green Cheek Conure

Adoption Fee: $200
Pet Bird
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Yodi, a 2 year old, very high demand, energetic green cheek. This is not a bird for inexperienced bird owners, or people looking for a casual pet. Yodi requires constant attention, stimulation, and interaction. Yodi can be extremely friendly and cuddly but he needs days to weeks of trust building to get to that point. This bird always needs something to chew on, which leads to him biting a LOT! we aren't talking break skin but he will nibble and chew hard enough to hurt a bit. He constantly needs something to do, new things to explore, and safe things to chew on. Without those things he becomes temperamental, upset, and aggressive. He's the type of bird to want to be everywhere at once and get upset when he can't physically do that. Yodi for the most part is pretty quiet when being handled or while stimulated. However when left unstimulated, bored, or stressed in a cage he produces a high pitched screech and scream for hours. He can also get extremely hormonal which causes excess biting. Yodi needs an experienced parrot owner who knows what they're doing, and can dedicate hours a day to his demanding needs. The cage is not included, so you must have your own setup! Yodi has never been introduced to a pellet diet. He has not been introduced to many other parrots, but those he has been introduced to he did not get along with. This is why he needs someone who can dedicate most of their time to him for the rest of his life. This bird is extremely demanding, but very worth it for those who can put in and sustain the time/effort. Remember! Parrots can live decades, accumulate years of experience, are highly emotional, incredibly intelligent, require lifesytle changes, and can scream as loud as 100-115db (That's as loud as a chainsaw). This leads to many parrots being adopted by people who weren't expecting the challenges of owning a parrot, then being passed from home to home living a miserable life. Most parrots are rehomed 3-7 times throughout their lives. Do your research, and don't be the reason another bird enters this cruel cycle If none of that scared you away and you genuinely think he's the bird for you, then go ahead and contact me. But in your initial message you must provide: 1: Your Experience with hookbills 2: A photo/video of your current cage setup 3: Your plan for his diet 4: Proof or name of your current Avian Vet A video meeting may be required prior to adoption
