About Abby

Abigail, lovingly called Abby, is an estimated 10-year-old, 6-pound Pomeranian with a tiny body, a big personality, and absolutely no plans to act her age. She came to rescue from the Rio Grande Valley and is now ready to spend her golden years exactly as she deserves: loved, spoiled, and preferably occupying someone's lap. Abby is an incredibly sweet and affectionate girl who loves attention and wants to be close to her person. Her favorite place is curled up beside you on the couch, although she's perfectly happy running around the yard when the mood strikes. She may be a senior, but there's still plenty of sass packed into those six pounds. She gets along well with other dogs and has some very strong opinions about cats. Abby will bark at them and seems completely convinced that she is terrifying, despite the unfortunate fact that many cats are considerably larger than she is. Please do not tell her. Abby rides well in the car, walks on a leash, and does well going outside to potty when taken out regularly. If she's left alone a little longer, she will also use puppy pads. She is crate trained, sleeps comfortably in her crate at night, and will even bark to let you know when she needs to go outside. Abby has an inoperable luxating patella that gives her a slight limp, but it doesn't seem to bother her or keep her from enjoying life. She still happily runs around the yard and keeps up with her daily activities. She has very few teeth remaining after her dental, so Abby does best with soft food. She certainly doesn't consider the lack of teeth a reason to miss a meal. Abby is fully vetted, including a full exam, spay, dental, vaccinations, and microchip. She is heartworm negative and current on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Abby is looking for someone who appreciates a tiny senior lady with excellent cuddling skills, strong opinions about cats, and enough personality for a dog three times her size.
