Name: Toby Age: DOB 11/30/18 Breed: Maltese, 11 pounds Sex: Male (neutered) Location: Pasco County, Florida Toby is a sweet boy that needs to find a new home. Owners living situation has changed and Toby is a trip hazard for an elderly family member. bbVet Info: Toby diagnosed with Diabetes in May of 2026. He takes 4 units of Vetsulin twice daily and Vetmedin 1.25mg twice a day. Toby is microchipped and is up to date with his vaccinations. Toby is neutered. Toby does not have a recent HW test. Toby recently has gone blind from Diabetes. Toby also has a heart murmur. He is scheduled for an appointment - the first since his recent blindness. Dog Info: Toby is an adorable and loving nine year old Maltese. He has recently been diagnosed and is now completely blind. Toby has been with his owner since he was a puppy but unfortunately, an elderly family member has tripped over him and been seriously injured. In order to keep the family member and Toby safe, he needs to be in another home. It is breaking the owner's heart, but it is for the best. Toby is an indoor dog with the run of the house. He is both housebroken and leash trained. He knows the commands, 'sit, come, let's eat, go outside and go home'. He has never had any formal obedience training. Toby is good with men, women and children of all ages. He gets along with male and female dogs and cats, as well. Toby can be possessive of his things, if you try to take something away from him he will growl but if you say, 'Let's go get a treat' he completely forgets why he was upset and follows you to get the treat. He has never shown any aggression to any animal and never has bitten or snapped at any person or animal. He's just a grumbler. Owner hopes to find him a loving and caring home where he will be able to thrive. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
