About Cocoa

Cocoa is a pit bull/boxer mix. She is great on and off leash and has a very sweet temperment. She has a lot of energy. She likes to run around in her morning walk, takes a mid-morning nap, and then wants to play again. She eats two meals a day but will stare at you if you are eating steak. :-) She thrives in a home where there is at least one person who she can love and latch onto. She loves attention and being pet and played with. She also does really well living with other dogs. She currently lives with an older lab/retriever mix, and they do great together; in fact, she gets his enery going. She is playful and funny to watch. She is the first dog I have ever taken care of who is a successful fetcher. She also has this way of talking to you when she wants to get her attention that would make her a Facebook star. Cocoa received two months of full-time training locally when she was just a few months old. She understands basic commands and has been crate trained. She does show some separation anxiety when left alone but can be left alone (without a crate) for 2-3 hours. She has boarded overnight and gone to day care a couple times at a local doggie day care, and they love her. She walks well on leash but when off leash (which we prefer for her) always stays within a few feet - she keeps an eye on us, and we always know where she is. Cocoa is up to date on all her vaccines and is spayed. She does not have any medical conditions. We call her Cocoa-bear and Cocoanut. She is a great dog and will follow you around like a shadow.
