About Cisco

Cisco is a handsome blue merle Schnauzer mix who is approximately 4 years old and weighs 15 pounds. He's a sweet, loyal, and playful dog who forms strong bonds with his people and thrives on companionship. Full of personality, Cisco loves learning new things. He's currently mastering the art of catching treats in midair (and getting better every day!) and is beginning to understand the joy of fetch. Cisco is an energetic dog who will do best with an active owner committed to providing plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and structure. While he settles nicely when his person is working from home, he does experience some separation anxiety when left alone. However, with a consistent routine, a crate, and calming music, he has shown that he can settle after an initial period of whining. Like many dogs, he also gets anxious during car rides. Still very much a young dog at heart, Cisco has a few puppy-like habits. He may sneak off with a sock, chew on an unattended item, or proudly carry sticks and mulch into the house. He also barks at people and dogs passing by the house or during walks. Cisco will need continued positive-reinforcement training and a patient adopter who can help him build confidence and polish his manners. Because of his energy level, Cisco requires a single-family home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely run and play. He would do best in a home without shared walls, where occasional barking won't be stressful for neighbors. Cisco would also love to be the king of the castle, soaking up all the attention from his family. With the right adopter, he'll be a fun, affectionate, and entertaining companion. Cisco is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and recently had a dental cleaning with no extractions.
