Now, after months of bandage changes, treatment, and learning what it means to trust again it's finally time. I'm ready to find my forever family. There was a time when every step I took felt like fire. ��Ӵ When my body was so broken that even the people who found me weren't sure I would make it this far. I was covered in injuries, �%9D%A4��%8F�'�%8D�٩� my leg hanging on by hope alone, and the world felt very far away. When R.E.A.L. Rottweiler Rescue finally reached me, I wasn't just injured I was surviving. Barely. Every day after that was bandages, medications, and the same quiet question hanging in the air, will he ever heal? They never gave up on me. Neither did I. �ٴ� Just when my body finally started to recover, another hurdle appeared. I was diagnosed with heartworm disease and had to go through treatment before I could even think about finding my forever family. It's been a long road. ��ݣ��%8F A really long road. But today�'�| I'm finally ready to posted! ��ժ My name is Waylon, and after everything I've survived, I'm officially looking for the family I've been waiting for. My foster family says I'm one of the most extraordinary dogs they've ever met. Not because of everything I've been through, but because of who I chose to become in spite of it. I've learned that trust is earned. That boundaries matter. That the right people won't rush me. I don't hand my heart to just anyone anymore, and honestly can you blame me? Once I know my human is in charge and I feel safe, I'm the happiest, goofiest guy ���%8Fyou'll ever meet. I've met friends, respectful kids, small groups of people, other large dogs, and even cats without any issues. I just appreciate people who let me come to them in my own time. I'm looking for someone with Rottweiler experience who understands that the deepest bonds aren't rushed. I deserve someone as patient and loving as the foster family that helped put my broken pieces back together. �%9D%A4��%8F�'�%8D�٩� �ٴ� After everything I've overcome, I deserve my last home. My forever home. Now for the important stuff! Me!!! �����%8F Around my house I'm known as 'Wailin' Waylon.' Every day around 4:00 p.m. I become absolutely convinced I've never eaten a meal in my entire life. �٪� I'll happily file formal complaints until dinner is served. Sometimes I complain just because I'm bored.�ٴ� I know sign language for sit and stay, ���and I'll patiently wait for my dinner until I'm given the 'okay.' I'm crate trained too. Tell me to 'go to your room,' and I'll head right in. Sometimes I even go there on my own for a nap or to chew on a bone. ��|� Things I absolutely love: �%9D%A4��%8F �ٴs Eggs on my meals. �ٴ� Peanut butter straight from the jar at the vet's office. Whatever else happens there is none of my business because I'm focused on peanut butter.���'� ��Z� Being sung to. ���'� Making long, intense eye contact. ���� ��%90� Following the cat around just to see what she's doing. ��%90� Watching the chickens from behind a fence. They're fascinating, even if I get a little too invested. ���| Drinking water every single time my dog sister does. ��%90� Hopping across the yard like a bunny. ��%8D%BD Testing whether completely non food objects might secretly be food. The fun police aka the rescue said don't let me do this though. ��s� Trying to mastermind my way into the pantry, litter box, or chicken coop. �٤%90 �%9D%A4��%8F Meeting new people, especially the ones who politely ignore me at first. That's usually how I decide you're worth getting to know. 'Btw this is such a Rottweiler thing' I've survived things that should have broken me. ���� Instead, they taught me how precious love really is. �٪� If you measure me by what I have been through, you'll see scars.
