About Louie

Meet Louie - a 5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix looking for his forever home. Louie is a sweet, house-trained, neutered boy who gets along great with other dogs. He has been DNA tested and is a mix of Australian Cattle Dog, Australian Shepherd, Chow Chow, and Retriever. Louie came into our care about six months ago when we agreed to dog-sit for his owner. Unfortunately, his owner has been dealing with significant personal problems and ultimately stopped responding to us. We have received permission to find Louie a new home, and that's what we're trying to do now. We can't keep him. But we want to do the right thing. �%9D%A4��%8F About Louie 5 years, 8 months old Male, neutered House-trained Great with other dogs Very active and intelligent DNA tested Recently treated for fleas/ticks Cats? We don't recommend it - we don't believe he'd be a good fit. Kids? His previous owner said he was good with kids, but we haven't had him around children ourselves, so we can't personally confirm that. Vaccinations: We don't have records and don't know when he was last vaccinated. If the owner had him vaccinated, it would have been before February of this year. Heartworm prevention: Unknown. Because Louie is a Cattle Dog mix, we'd especially love to find him a home with room to run and someone who understands active working breeds. A large fenced yard would be ideal. If you're a farmer, rancher, or simply someone who loves Cattle Dogs and wants a loyal, energetic companion, Louie may be exactly what you're looking for. Most importantly, Louie deserves a family that is committed to him for the rest of his life. He has already experienced more instability than he should have. We are asking for a $60 rehoming fee to help ensure he's going to a serious, committed adopter.
