About 'SHAY'

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY (BRENTWOOD, CA) IN NOR CALIFORNIA- ADORABLE, LOVING 18 MO FRIENDLY CHOW BOY 'SHAY'- OWNER SADLY PASSED AWAY FROM CANCER, NEEDS A LOVING, FOREVER HOME ASAP. (Currently shaved, fur grows back) Please help us find a loving, forever home for this young man after his owner died and the extended family is unable to keep much longer. Shay was adopted as a young puppy and is now approximately 18 months old. He has been neutered and recently updated on his vaccinations at an exam. The person now caring for him, temporarily, reached out to us and told us: 'My sister in law just passed away from cancer and she leaves behind the sweetest Chow pup. He is a purebred chow, and very large, approximately 70 pounds. We are hoping to find a loving home. Since she was so ill, he hasn't been trained beyond sit and stay down commands. We have a dog walker who takes him everyday but he needs and deserves a loving companion. He's the most loving Chow she has ever had. He is neutered and good with other dogs. Just ignores dogs but he loves people.. Fixed and vaccinated, and because we're in a hot location, my sister in law has been having him shaved over the last few months.' He also has no reported bites or medical issues. The sister in law also told us Shay has access to both indoors and outdoors and is potty trained. She felt, 'It would be better to go to a senior, not a family with small children as he's still a goof and will knock the kids down. He's friendly but needs more training'. Thus, a responsible home without young children currently would be wise. It does not need to be a senior home. He's a young, larger chow who understandably has puppy energy still. 'Shay is a very sweet Chow Chow.'
