Salma Needs a Foster or Adopter to Secure Her Ride to Wisconsin This Saturday, 8/15! Salma is currently in a kill shelter in Georgia and needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER to secure her spot on transport to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue this Saturday, 8/15. A committed home is required for her to make the trip, and we're hopeful the right person is out there! Meet Salma Salma is an 11-month-old Shepherd/Husky mix weighing around 50 pounds who is ready for a fresh start. She was found as a stray in Georgia, and sadly, no one ever came looking for her. Now, she has a chance to leave the shelter behind and start a new life in Wisconsin-but she needs a home to make the trip possible. Salma can be a little shy and aloof when she first meets other dogs, but give her about five minutes and her goofy personality comes out! She loves to play, run around, and have fun with her dog friends. She also does a great job reading other dogs' cues. When the older dog she was playing with decided he was finished, Salma took the hint, left him alone, and went off to do her own thing, sniffing and exploring. She is a medium-energy girl who enjoys playtime and running around but also knows when it is time to settle down and relax. She doesn't need to be constantly entertained and is perfectly happy doing her own thing once playtime is over. Salma also did well during cat testing. She was interested at first, but when the cats didn't engage with her, she quickly lost interest and left them alone. We think she could do well with proper introductions and a cat who is comfortable around dogs. And just look at those eyes! Salma is a beautiful Shepherd/Husky mix with one very special blue eye.
