About Ragnar

Ragnar is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Meet Ragnar - A lovable weirdo who's ready to be your new best friend! Once a tomcat, Ragnar has discovered, thanks to the kindness of strangers, that humans (especially the ones who provide snacks and scratches) are actually pretty fantastic! He might act a little shy when you first meet him, but don't let that fool you. Once he warms up, this social guy is all about spending time with his favorite people and soaking up extra back and neck scratches. Ragnar is currently on a bit of a weight-loss journey, but let's be honest: his magnificent squishy belly is part of his charm. He doesn't particularly enjoy belly rubs, though he'll tolerate a quick touch! Due to a previous jaw infection, he's sensitive about having his face touched or handled, so he'll need someone who respects his boundaries. The good news? He's surprisingly cooperative for nail trims and brushing sessions, and he even tolerates baths remarkably well... for a cat, anyway! This handsome gentleman is also a pretty polite roommate. He respects furniture and hasn't shown much interest in scratching it. He's got good litter box manners, too, but he'll need an extra-large box to comfortably turn around and do his business. Beefy boys need their space! Ragnar also has some food sensitivities that are well managed with a sensitive stomach and skin diet, with probiotics as needed. No prescription food is currently required. And don't let his toothless grin fool you: this boy LOVES dry food! Wet, dry, or a combination of both works just fine for him. When he's not busy being your adorable little weirdo, Ragnar is ready to PLAY. He loves toys he can bat around, especially balls with bells and catnip kickers. Catnip? Absolutely. Playtime? Always! One of his favorite games is hide-and-seek, and he'd be thrilled to find a feline friend who enjoys playing along. Ragnar would do best with older children or adults who understand that sometimes a shy kitty needs a little space rather than someone chasing after him for cuddles. He's met both men and women and happily accepts love from either. He's also cat-friendly, although his introductions can be a little... enthusiastic. He sometimes gets overly excited and comes on stronger than a new feline friend might appreciate. With time and proper introductions, he's done well with cats of all ages, especially those who enjoy a good game of chase or hide-and-seek. Once Ragnar feels safe and settled, his personality really shines. He can be chatty, affectionate, and full of the sweetest little chirps you've ever heard. He's not necessarily a sit-on-your-lap-all-day kind of guy, but he'll happily snuggle up beside you on the couch, give you slow blinks, and remind you that you've officially been chosen as his person. Ragnar may need a little patience while he adjusts to his new home, but we promise he's worth the wait.
