About GINGER

Adoption Fee: $475
Papillon / Pomeranian
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

GINGER is an 18-month-old, 15-pound Papillon/Pomeranian mix who came into rescue after her homeless owner left the area for rehab. GINGER is a happy, outgoing girl who has never met a stranger. She loves people, enjoys attention and is great with kids. She is also very playful and has lots of young-dog energy. She would do best in an active home that will provide plenty of exercise, playtime, enrichment and continued training. She is a fun, social girl looking for a family ready to enjoy life right along with her. GINGER loves playing with other dogs and gets along well with every dog she has met. A playful canine companion who can keep up with her would be a great match. Fetch, tug-of-war, toys and big bones are all favorites. She will play until she crashes for a nap, then wakes up ready to go again! She does give a small warning growl if another dog gets too close to her food, so she should have her own space at mealtime. Cats are unknown, but she has a strong prey drive, so a home without cats would probably be best. GINGER is house trained and will use a pee pad if she can't get outside. She walks well on a leash and loves running zoomies around the yard. She is very fast, loves to explore and chase anything that moves, and her specialty is hunting palmetto bugs! A securely fenced yard is required. She is still young and has not had much training, so her foster family is working with her on a few puppy behaviors, including occasionally chasing after them and nipping at their heels. When bedtime rolls around, GINGER finds herself a comfy spot somewhere in the house and settles in for the night. GINGER is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
