About Despereaux

She is deaf and responds to signs. She is very smart and learns quickly. She is a wonderfully sweet, fun, joyful, snuggly dog who attracts attention wherever she goes due to both her bubbly personality and unique elegant beauty. She loves long walks (but shorter ones are fine too), and playing fetch. She is athletic and entertaining when playing but is also very content to chill out and snuggle up with you. She really loves her people and wants to be close. She loves to intently observe squirrels and rabbits in the yard, and also to chase them, so she needs a fenced yard. She is so loving and sweet, and silly and fun, and it is incredibly difficult to consider letting her go, but unfortunately, she is dog aggressive (reactive), and has gotten out of the house several times and gone after a neighbor's dogs. No serious injuries, but now with his attitude toward her, it is just too risky to chance her getting loose here again. She needs a very special home where she will be the only dog (has also been food aggressive with the other dog, but never, ever aggressive in any way with people), and where she can be kept safely in the house and yard, and most importantly, where she can be allowed to be her wonderful self and understood and loved as she deserves. She truly is a unique, fun, super sweet darling who is a lover at heart, and just needs the right home where she can be kept safe.
