About Stitch

Adoption Fee: $50
Australian Cattle Dog mix

Stitch is a very loving dog with his family. I have 3 children and he loves the kids and baby more than he loves his parents. He is very dominant when it comes to his house and his yard. He drives me insane every time someone knocks on the door which is very rare, we do not get many visitors. So, if the neighbor is outside he will bark at them the whole time and growl and whine. We got him as a puppy and we were unsuccessful in crate training him. His anxiety was too bad. He does not like to be left alone. My mother in law keeps feeding all the neighborhood cats and we can't seem to fight off the fleas and worms (hookworms and ringworms). Stitch also has a food allergy to chicken, he loves salmon based dog food and lamb but mostly salmon. Right now he has a few raw spots on his ears from scratching and it's completely unfair to him that we don't have the funds to take him to the vet like we should. We can't afford his heartguard and Nexgard anymore. We just had a baby and took on the responsibility of my mother in law. We love stitch, but he requires a lot that we can't afford right now. We decided that the best thing to do right now is to rehome him. We have had him for almost 3 years. He is a super lovable boy once he feels comfortable around you. He does not like the dog park so we could not get him around other dogs, but weirdly he does an amazing job with people and other pets when we go to the vet! We are private people so he doesn't get any interaction with other people, therefore he is very dominant when people do come over. This makes me nervous. He loves my children and I honestly feel like he would never harm them or me. When he had an ear infection he acted like he was going to nip me because we were trying to treat him, but the look he gave me told me he would never harm me. I totally trust him. We really just can't afford him anymore and hate to see him go, but it has to be done. I don't want him to fall in the wrong hands and they think he is aggressive just because he doesn't know them and feel comfortable with them. So I feel like my hands are tied. Please, someone help us with our Stitch! He will protect you and love you forever! When we rescued him, he was covered and I mean covered in ticks. He sat there and let me get everything single one off of him. There were multiple ticks that were burrowed into his skin at least a half to an inch deep. Once he gets to know you he will trust you to let you take care of him. He loves hard and he is an amazing dog with such a huge personality! He really cares and loves hard! He needs you! Please help and love our Stitch and I promise you won't regret it. I really hate to see him go but it's the right thing to do with the situation we are in. This is very hard for us and I wish it were completely different!
